Long time no blog right? So much has happened in the past 2 months. A Decade To Die For is moving forward as a three piece for the moment. A THREE PIECE!!!! I know i'm sort of uncomfortable saying it myself. I can't imagine reading it. WTF! There are absolutely no hard feelings towards Derek as he moves on in his life. He's our best friend and brother and we wish him nothing but the best in life. It's sad to see him leave but everything happens for reason.

Thanks to everyone that came out to the Mad Frog last night. It was weird taking lead for the first time. Crazy little story about last night... So the first version of ADTDF was a three piece. Dustin is the only original member to that era. Their first show was at the Mad Frog in 2006. We took the stage last night as a three piece once more. I don't think it means anything really. Just a weird corse of events. We started over last night. Maybe it's for the best.

In the months to come we'll be making some decisions on when the new album will come out. But in the mean time keep your eyes open for a free acoustic (EP) from us. i'm not gonna set a date but it will be out before the album for sure.

I'm feeling accomplished and proud of the band. I'm hopelessly hopeful for this dream to come true.

RANDOM UPDATES AND FEELINGS

I think we've all recovered from friday. I can't speak for Arnie but everyone that came out made that show incredible. I can't imagine a better way to send someone off or to leave a band than to have one last amazing show with close friends and fans.

I've uploaded a few photos from the show taken by my friend Scott Crum. Just click the logo to view show pictures and random shit.

If anyone else has photos, I would love to see them/post them.

The immediate plan for the next couple of weeks is to start working our new bassist Drew Chalfant into the mix.

Many of you may already know drew from his previous project. After their recent split we snagged him up. He's a long time friend and a previous band mate of dustins. We are very hopeful that he'll fill and exceed our expectations. His first show will be on Jan. 10th at the Mad Hatter. We'll be helping Hazel Weatherfield celebrate the release of their new CD.

The new year is shaping up to be a big year for us. We'll be releasing our new disc early to mid February. the plan is to be hitting the road for mass out of town dates and shopping our new stuff to anyone who will listen and hopefully the right people.

We're hopelessly hopeful.

Friday December 19th will be the official last show for Arnie. The long and short of it is this, he feels that it's time to move on. We are sad to see him go but want nothing but the best for him. He's not just our bassist he's our best friend. Please come out and send him off right with an awesome show.

Dear interweb users,

How was your Thanksgiving? We all have a lot to be thankful for around here. I am listening to our new record and if you like music with heart and soul maybe you should buy a copy because i watched my peers pour it in to this thing.
We had practice tonight and the songs sounded tight, and we played well, our stage legs are getting back warm and we will be on stages again very soon.

I am currently listening to Shiner's 'the Egg' and it is sweet check it out. Other than that not much is going on. Stay warm, and in touch.

So I'm feeling pretty lucky right now. The "Never Sleep Again Tour" is coming to The Historic Southgate House this Friday November 21st. This tour will be headlined by Hawthorne Heights,and special guests Emery, Tickle Me Pink, The Mile After, and The Color Fred. The Color Fred wont pick up until the 22nd so we were asked to do a short open spot Friday.

You know what that means. If you can come out and come out early. We go on at 7:00 pm. We'll blast out a strong set and then hang out. I have to say this will be on of the better shows i've attended at the Southgate House let alone played there.

Hello World,

So it's been 368 days since we put out that E.P. you all love--you know, 'The Process'. This past year has been crazy, we have written so many songs, and played some great shows. Here are some of my favorite memories of the past:
1. Playing our Cd release weekend last year, here and Louisville! Wild.
2. Finch at bogarts--I had wanted to play bogarts for years!
3. Last Winters shows w/ SSI, and the pub show.
4. Practicing all summer long, writing most of the new songs.
5. Louisville Oct 12th, all of us and our significant others fun weekend.
6. Halloween, I was a vampire (Drumula) and Derek was a hot dog pure comedy.

Right now i am Jamming some sweet bands, Sugar Spell it out, The Past Times, Hot Rod Circuit, and Jawbreaker. This is a nice early Winter mix.

I'm so excited to be back in Trenton OH, this weekend. We'll be finishing the last half of the CD. November is going to be an awesome little month. If all goes well we'll have our first full length tracked by Sunday evening. RIDIC! RANDOM FALL RAMBLINGS

September? I totally missed that. I can't believe it's October already. Where did the summer go? I mean really... honestly...

We've all been so caught up in life. Dustin is working hard on graduating, Arnie works some crazy dumb hours at work, and as for me and Derek well i guess we're just in the grind. I hate to see summer go but winter means we wont sweat as much at shows. PERFECT!

We were in Louisville last night and caught some pretty awesome bands. The Past Times are a great find. We can't wait to bring them up here. We'll be adding them to our arsenal of out of town friends. Sugar Spell It Out was awesome as per usual. All in all Louisville's Skull Ally is a great little shotgun venue. If you're in the area you should check it out.

I'm pretty stoked about this halloween show. It's gonna be an awesome night. It's got a little something for everyone. Black TIe Affair, Dead Serious!, The Upset Victory, and Famous Mr. Nobodies. Plus it's a $5 show. I say we get dressed up and act ridiculous.

SHOWS IN SEPT. AND OCT.

Our dear friend and bass player Arnie has to leave for training in FL. So for the next couple of shows we'll be playing as a three piece. But no worries. Derek is going to put down the guitar for a short stint. Take one for the team and pick up the bass in Arnie's absence. Not a huge deal but we'll need everyones help to just make these shows as fun as possible. Come out and sing along. Our first try as a Trio will be Sept. 13th at the Southgate House in Newport Kentucky W/ our friends Dead Serious!...

Arnie Monell will be returning at the end of Oct. and will resume is normal bass duties. Shortly after his return we'll be finishing the last half of the new album. I can't wait to get back in the studio.

If anyone has any suggestions as to what they want to see from us let me know...

We've been working so hard to get these songs to a point where we can record them and we have so much more to do. We kicked everything off this weekend and it went better than we could have ever hoped. However we still have two songs to polish and two more to write to finish this record.

We started a great new song tonight at practice and we're all pretty stoked about it.

First of all we are playing our first show in about a month on Friday the 18th. Come hang out with us. we miss your faces. Even better news we are starting a new record!! Recording starts August 2nd and we'll be spending the majority of the month working on it. It will be a full-length record consisting of 10 - 12 songs. STOKED!!!! TOTALLY STOKED!!!

We would like to ask for some ideas. We have a couple of names for the album but want to hear your ideas as well. If you have a name you think we should call the album just send us a message. We really want to hear your ideas!

So, we are half way through writing the full length. We have 5 great songs done and we are constantly writing. we'll be heading in to the studio to start the recording process around mid summer. We are stoked to get started. We feel that we are really coming into our own with our writing. We're positive you'll love every catchy melody we're about to throw at you.

We have a Free show on May 30th to support our friends over at Power House. They make bad ass art and rock posters. We bring the infectious rock. It's meant to be. It's our hope to play a normal set and sprinkle in the new songs. We're excited to see what you think...

Newport, Kentucky (May 5, 2008) Powerhouse Factories has moved to Newport, KY and is throwing a slam! The grand opening of the design and print houses’ new space, and first look at new works will be on Friday, May 30th, 2008. This one night show will be free and open to the public. Powerhouse Factories is located at 33 East 9th Street in Newport, KY.

This event will showcase new posters and prints by Powerhouse as well as the classics. All prints on display will be available for purchase with prices ranging from $10-$50. Framed posters start at $100. The new space will also be on display and is a work of art in itself. Located on the first floor of the newly renovated Marx Cromer building, Powerhouse has built a creative complex to inspire all. They will be honored in celebration by one of Cincinnati’s most energetic rock bands, ‘A Decade To Die For’. Long time friends, Powerhouse and ‘A Decade To Die For’ have worked together to promote one another and are excited to bring this event to you.

Powerhouse Factories moved from Covington to Newport in early 2008 to a fresh space as well as moving in a new direction with their work. They are now focusing on more dynamic design projects for larger, national companies. This, based on the success of some of their rock posters, drives them to continue down the gig poster path, creating posters for more prominent musical artists. Gig posters have enjoyed a renaissance of creativity over the past several years thanks to the work of internationally known artists such as Art Chantry, Coop, Tara McPherson, Frank Kozik, and many others.
